It feels like Spring!
As it so often goes… Life follows nature. Just last week I was working with a client who was sharing her goals for our session. She stated she put on some weight over the last months. She was unhappy with herself over this.
My response as it often is: our life follows the seasons just as all of nature does! We are all one, all a part of the other. So why would we think that it is only the trees, plants and animals that need the season of winter to rest and rejuvenate? That bit of extra weight we put on the winter has it purpose. We do need to be kind to ourselves and use loving words in our self-talk.
So now here we are in spring! Time to shed all the winter clothes, hats, coats, boots, and yes even the part of our body’s natural warmth that helps us get through the winter months.
Ayurveda teaches us that Spring is Kapha. In Ayurveda there are constitutions made up of Doshas. We are all a sum of each but there can be an in-balance in our body. This can be addressed with proper diets, activity etc. To find out your constitution you may take this Dosha Quiz.
